Mark Ballard, Vice President |
||||
Since joining The Rosen Group in the spring of 2004, Mark Ballard has managed a diverse group of high-profile accounts. Through a combination of consumer and trade media placements, Ballard helped bring the independent and up-and-coming Paste magazine into consideration as the country's best music magazine (it is). Ballard also handled the launch of Make magazine, a launch so successful that it eventually produced a spin-off magazine (Craft), several Make-themed books, and the annual Maker Faire, an event that, while only in its third year, attracted an incredible 65,000 attendees. Ballard also enjoys working for SGPTV (The Sponsorship Group for Public Television) and PBS’ Nightly Business Report, the longest-running and most-watched daily business program. Going forward, Ballard looks to expand The Rosen Group's music and entertainment practice, tapping into emerging opportunities on both a local and national level. Previously, Ballard worked at Giles Communications where he helped promote the first-ever Yamaha Piano-E-Competition, an international online piano competition featuring judges such as Emmanuel Ax and Yefim Bronfman. Ballard also worked with Yamaha handling product placement opportunities and event promotion. Prior to Giles Communications, Ballard was employed at The MWW Group where he worked with Invest-UK, the primary inward-investment agency for the United Kingdom. For Invest-UK, Ballard managed the organization's appearance at the prestigious 2001 BIO conference in San Diego, which included the promotion of Prince Andrew's conference-opening remarks. Ballard's work on this campaign resulted in a Galaxy Award for Public Relations excellence. Over the years, Ballard’s work has lead to notable client placements in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, The Robb Report, Rolling Stone, Jimmy Kimmel Live, World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, CBS Evening News and CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, among others. A Rochester, NY native, graduate of Villanova University, and crazed Green Bay Packer football fan, Ballard relishes his role as Uncle to his amazing nieces and nephews Maya, Molly, Jack and Hayden.
